“ Good place to shop for indian grocery, fresh produce. I like the shop it contained most of the items I was looking for. Prices are reasonable. The parking is little tough. Staff is friendly. ”

“ My first time shopping at in Indian grocery store and this westerner girl will be returning! There's an abundance of Indian cookies and chips in the packaged snack aisle. I didn't know that potato chips were a big deal in India. The lentil aisle is like the rainbow, they had every color of lentil you could think of. The produce quality was hit and miss if I'm being honest. Most of the herbs and spices I got were fresh though. The spice aisle is what you wish American stores like vons had. You die and go to spice heaven. All sorts of masalas and chilis etc. The frozen section had exotic ice creams like fenugreek and pistachio. They also had a section for votive candles and incense along with Diwali decor. The grocers were busy and kind of kept to themselves. I'm glad I brought my Indian friend to show me all the good brands. Overall this will be my go to ethnic Indian market during my time in SD! ”

“ This was my first time shopping at a Cash and Carry and it felt like I had found a GEM! I was PLEASANTLY surprised at how much I absolutely loved this store. I am the type of grocery shopper who likes to take their time and peruse the aisles, exploring all the options and ingredients. I spent a solid 30 minutes slowly walking through. The store layout was well-organized and well-stocked with a wide variety of fry goods, frozen foods, cookware, and produce. The spice and tea aisles were a spice/tea lover's DREAM! I ended up purchasing a variety of whole spices, black chai leaves, jaggery, fresh sugar cane, and tea biscuits as fuel for my chai-making passion. I appreciated seeing an entire section, in the corner of the store adjacent to the produce, dedicated to Pooja materials. This was well-stocked and had a grand variety of items to choose from. I am eager to return to Aksham the next time I am in town for my next spice/tea run. I highly recommend this shop to all folks looking for a well-priced and stocked Indian grocery store! ”
“ As mentioned in other reviews, Akshar is not as crowded nor as large as Miramar Cash and Carry. But, you have two choices now. Akshar is well stocked & clean. However, it does have a smaller parking lot. It's worth a visit. ”
“ I came here a few days ago because its less crowded than miramar cash and carry. This store is neat and clean, items are easy to find. My husband always nag me to buy pooja supplies and their quality of selection is the best Ive ever seen. One extra star for awesome customer service :) ”
“ Very underrated Indian grocery store. I happened to found some fresh fruits and vegetables that were not present in other Indian store. If you want to find any herbal remedies this is the place for you. They also have ample items for Pooja , I always buy Pooja items from here, they are good quality and cheap. I also found out that sometimes some items in here is cheap than other Indian stores also. But, o have never seen crowed in the store. ”
“ Pretty good store for Indian cooks. There's a huge variety of kitchen staples, spices, snacks and frozen items. The produce section is a little small considering the size of this store. There were some fresh vegetables but not all looked appealing enough to purchase. Lack of fruit variation was the same as well but even less. I'll definitely be back for when I need certain things for cooking Indian cuisine or snacks. ”
